OUTDOOR
Outdoor knives come in various shapes and sizes, but they all share the common features of being sturdy, easy to maintain, and sharpen. Some are designed for specific purposes, such as filleting fish, while others are versatile enough to be used indoors in the kitchen.
All of my outdoor knives are crafted with the notion that they will primarily be used for cooking or preparing food and meat outdoors, including filleting, skinning, gutting (and even splitting firewood).
Each outdoor knife boasts a full tang handle, made from solid steel from tip to butt, which ensures their exceptional resilience against any wear and tear that can occur in the rough outdoors.
Elven Blades outdoor knives are sharpened to an 18° cutting edge because a razor's edge on a knife will quickly become dull when being used in the wilderness. Instead, it is more important that your knife can be sharpened easily and efficiently, even on a river stone.
PS - The outdoor knife series "Crumpy" is named in the honour of Mr John Barry Crump MBE (1935 - 1996), a well-known New Zealand writer and gentleman. Crumpy would have loved them knoivses...
